(8j) Three weeks of war in Israel. Not something that was not expectable

The war by Israel against the people in Gaza after the terrible attack by Hamas against Israelis who were partying next the Gaza Strip whereby 1400 Israelis were killed and hundreds were taken hostages.
Of course, Israel had to respond, but not overrespond. As nearly 10.000 people in Gaza died, including about 4000 Palestinian children, it is likely many will become more hateful towards Israel. One extreme right Israeli minister proposed to use nuclear weapons against Palestinians, such is his hate against people who lost their properties when Jewish people moved to Israel after WWII.
They should have tried to live together in peace as many tried (such as Daniel Barenboim) because they are closer related than they accept. Indeed, even their religion of not showing images of God and worship of humans is different from Christians who show the builder of monuments for their religion, and even God and Jesus. However, a section of Israelis don't want peace but instead continue to remove land from the Palestinians as they want to rebuild their place of worship, ie the Temple.
Below my posts on Facebook about the war in which too many people died.

FB 07/10/2023 - Terrorist attack by Hamas on Israel's land

Remember the Warsaw ghetto where the nazi's imprisoned the Jews? They couldn't leave the city and were slowly starved to death. At a certain moment, the Jews indecent inside decided to revolved in the hope to break free. However, it was the signal for the nazi's to "punish" the rebellious Jews. After WWII, Jews went to a small place they called home in the hope for peace. Unfortunately, other people lived there.

And thus, after years of imprisonment of Palestinians in Gaza, it was to be expected that one day they would try to break out. As Israel has an extreme right government, we can expect a response without mercy. Indeed, sometimes war solves problems that can't be solved. 😔

Sad that people can't live in peace in what many people call the Land of God, and thus what should be a place of safety and prosperity for everyone.

FB 09/10/2023 - Middle-East diplomacy, and how the cards may have changed after the attack from Gaza into Israel.

Of course, it is wrong to attack innocent people as Hamas did.

But, we know this would happen one day. The Gaza strip that has been closed off since 2006 with terrible living conditions for the 2.3 million people living there. Further, continuous extension of Israeli colonies in areas where Palestinians live. Who would not become angry when people invade their country and take away the land of people who live there?

Now Israel has reasons to attack Gaza and annex the region. It is said that only when Israel is one can the rebuilding of the Temple start, although the Temple will not bring good luck for Israel at the short term. Then to believe that the Palestinians may have Jewish blood from a time before Muslims invaded that region and changed its religion.

PM Netanyahu says "What we will do to our enemies in the coming days will reverberate with them for generations". In the meanwhile, houses are bombed in Gaza workout prior notice so civilians are killed.

In return, Hamas threatens to kill hostages if Israel continues to bomb houses in Gaza without prior warning. But, will this stop Israel? Indeed, it will be Hamas who kills and not Israel, and increasingly Israelis will not mind the end of Gaza, an area that doesn't stop troubling Israel. I think this time an opportunity is seen to cleanup Gaza.

What Hamas did was terrible, a real terrorist act that killed over 1300 people, mainly Jews. Now people in Gaza City are told to leave within 24h, a city as large as Brussels. Of course, that is not very possible.

Israel has an extreme right government. Will it order the destruction of Gaza City? Via the ground, or air? Israel should be careful not to commit war crimes, or it will be reminded in future for what it did. On the other hand, it is understandable that people sometimes want a final solution. But, will extreme violence bring peace?

FB 15/10/2023 - The circle of violence

Indeed, when people are oppressed and brutalised they will hit back. Just as at one point Jews in Warschaw rebelled against Hitler's occupiers, now some Palestinians rebelled against people who have fun next a region where people are imprisoned in a concentration camp. But, we can't say this.
In the end, if Europeans didn't act as they did during WWII, Jews didn't have to return to Israel. Unfortunately, but increasingly we read about growing antisemitism in Europe. One last time Europeans, this time together with Americans, will go mad? I hope not.

Wise words by Daniel Barenboim, together with Edward Said founder of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra. People should try to work together, such as play music together, instead of thinking they are superior to others.

Jews returned massively to Israel where Palestinians lived, after the terrible events of WWII in Europe. Jews could have accepted the founding borders of Israel, and work from there with Palestinians to form a unified country if that was possible. Unfortunately, certain hard-core Jews wanted one small Jewish state,  while Muslims occupy nearly half the world. How they forget that their God wants to rule everyone, not one small group, and this starting from them.

It is sad as both Muslims and Jews claim to have a common father with different mothers. And thus the battle is about people who refuse to share a common heritage. In addition, many Palestinians may have been Jews who converted to Islam as new powers forced them to do so. Today we still have this struggle, whereby a two-state may be a solution, with Jerusalem an international capital. But, some will refuse this.

FB 18/10/2023 - Hospitals under attack

A worrying trend. After Ukraine, now in Gaza a hospital is bombed. The UN may be invited to investigate what happened. But, it is dangerous when hospitals are no longer respected as safe places, although accidents can happen during wars but should be kept to a minimum.

USA President Biden went to Israel to try to limit the war between Israel and Gaza, originally against Hamas. Israel promised that aid can be delivered to Gaza. We will see, can we trust this time Israel's PM Netanyahu as in the past he provoked by breaking agreements? Indeed, to escape prison, he needs the help from Jewish settlers who refuse moderation as they hate non-Jews. Remember, both presidents Obama and Sarkozy had little respect for a man who can't keep promises. Who may not become angry with people who can't keep their words? President Biden also made the mistake to accept Israel's version of the destruction of a hospital, instead of demanding an independent investigation. Now Muslims increasingly are angered with the USA, and that is dangerous.

If prophesies are right, war can only stop after the Temple is rebuilt, while the desire to rebuild an old building may be the reason why war erupts. Stupidity when people think that buildings are gods.

FB 19/10/2023 - USA-Israel policies

A critical article about president Biden who wants to be so similar with Trump in reaching peace deals with the Middle East that he even ordered to veto a demand for a ceasefire in Gaza. Also many European countries remain quite silent, but that is partially understandable after our own history of trying to exterminate Jews. Still, how can we watch that Palestinian children are victim of Israel's constant bombing? And why not demand a UN investigation in the attack on the hospital?

What Hamas did was horrible, and justify serious actions against them as they killed about 1400 Jews, including babies and children. But this response is an excuse to clean Gaza and include it in Israel. Yes, it is a policy from Israel since decades, the reason why Netanyahu always did the opposite of what he negotiated.

It is a policy supported by extreme right Christians, not because they love Jews, but in the end they want to enforce their own policies upon Israel. When the Temple is rebuilt, do we really believe that Jews, and even Muslims, will accept that a cross and statue of the builder will be erected within the Temple? Than those Christians will not show mercy as you can read on their websites.

At least the UN should have been able to demand a ceasefire to stop a bombing that is nearly worse than what Russia does in Ukraine. To lead is sometimes to not agree with an ally. Or soon Americans, but also Europeans, may no longer be able to visit many countries.

It is beyond belief what Hamas did in Israel. How can Israel not respond? Why can Palestinians not tell Israelis where Hamas militants are hiding? The attack by Hamas was beyond understanding.
Religious people know that God approves an eye for an eye, a hand for a hand. And thus dead Palestinians for dead Israelis. Sad.

How victims of fascism can become fascists towards others. The real reasons for the violence in Israel is because of Jewish settlers who continue their ideology to drive any non-Jew out of Israel. And thus any idea of a two-state solution will fail. Extremist Christians, for their own agenda and not because they like Jews, encourage the settlers to continue.

Still, when only Jews are left in Israel, will this result in peace? Probably not. Because, like extremists Muslims, extremist Jews will demand strict religious obedience from any Jew living in Israel. Thus, LGBTQ rights may suffer. But also Jewish women may have to dress as men will tell them; already over the past years there were incidents between extremist Jews who told orthodox Jewish women they were improperly dressed. Peace in Israel? Not in a short time I fear.

What Hamas did was terrible, few can deny this. Revenge was to be expected. But, for the USA to veto a ceasefire is wrong when a whole city and more is being destroyed.

We know what is the problem: After the Holocaust in Europe, Jews wanted to return to a place they had to leave (by a European power) 2000 years ago. Unfortunately, other people were living in that region. And thus a two-state solution was proposed. But, the radical section in Israel doesn't want peace, but instead want all the land they call Israel. And thus anger, and terrorism grew with people whose properties were taken from them. Will Israel's actions bring peace? Unlikely, it may instead bring fire to the rest of the world.

And thus the UN may become more involved in trying to reach peace. But, this may only work if they find a two-state solution in the old testament, or certain Jews will never accept this. Everyone fighting each other, while they all claim to worship a one-God. Still, don't expect peace when radicals are strong, even when you are at there side.

What Hamas did was terrible, unacceptable. Unfortunately although predictable, the reaction of Israel is heavy, even over the top with thousands of Palestinians death, and complete infrastructure destroyed so many Palestinians can't return. Anyone, including the UN Secretary-General, who mention this can expect a harsh response by Israel.

But, who wouldn't be angry when people come to someone's land, claim historical rights over the territories, and put the original inhabitants behind walls whereby it is nearly impossible to leave the area?

If only countries that were involved during WWII in the murder of six million Jews, and other people such as LGBTQs and communists, had given part of their country to the Jews, than Jews didn't need to move to Israel. If only WWII had not happened.

Now the near silence by the West that even vetoed a humanitarian pause, can anger many. It feels so déja-vue: after the Hebrews returned to Israel under Moses, they also killed the locals. But, those who are without criticism may be worse as often they have their own agenda.

The US House Speaker seems to be a radical with strong support for Israel for extreme right's own agenda. That also include among others no support for LGBTQ rights.

I still don't understand why the Democrats didn't support Mr McCarthy, a moderate Republican House Speaker who reached a deal with democratic President Biden. Democrats probably had their own reasons to get rid of the previous House Speaker. Can President Biden be able to achieve anything from now onwards?

UN Secretary-General Guterres spoke recently against what Israel is doing in Gaza. For this he was criticised by Israel. However, [quote] "societies have to be permitted to have difficult conversations about how and why people do unspeakable things, not to absolve the perpetrators but to prevent them happening again."

But, it is also about people who say prophecies need to be fulfilled. Difficult to understand this, the reason why many people speak about conspiracy theories. Unfortunately, it is not because we can't believe what certain people want to do, that it will not happen when it concerns powerful people. Such as some want a Jewish state with a temple. And thus they will not listen to voices that the opposite side also has human rights. Sad.

These satellite images seem to suggest large areas of Gaza have become inhabitable. Will this conflict be able to unite Muslims behind one leader? Unless all leaders want to be thé leader.

Terrible what is happening in Gaza where citizens can't go anywhere. Revenge for what terrorists did is not good policies, although it was to be expected that one day someone would chose for a final solution.

And thus journalists within Gaza are reporting about the bombing of homes and hospitals, until cities will be replaced with tents. And later become part of Israel. Still, also Jews can commit war crimes.

And when Israel becomes a Jewish state, will Jewish extremists allow that other Jews live their life as they wish? When did Israel bring peace for Jews when they ruled the area? They were often fighting each other.

The curse of the Jews: whenever they are in Israel, or Palestine, they become divided and may even fight each other. The article mentions the division is already growing.

Why? Because extremist Jews want their policies such as a Jewish-only country where Jews will have to obey Jewish laws. Thus, while Jews invaded Palestine, certain Jews don't want peace with the locals, and with those who are different.

The division increased with the start of the current extreme right Netanyahu government. The Hamas attack temporality unites, but once the Palestinians will be defeated, will this unity continue? For instance, can Tel Aviv remain a tolerant city? We'll wait and see what the future will bring.
