My Life on this planet.

Friday, June 17, 2022 . A number of the Guardian articles about the state of our planet, not only about climate change but also about people who kill other humans who only want to report on the state of our planet so we understand the destruction. I published the articles on my Facebook in June 2022 while added more recent articles in this post. This bring us to the conclusion that activism as usual such as meeting important people is no longer sufficient. But, what is the best way forward as any actions such as those by Extinction Rebellion (ER) are condemned by many people while a war by Russia draws even more money to fossil fuel and more general to energy companies? Recently there was a beautiful program on Klara  (Flemish classical music broadcaster) whereby music and discussions were linked. The central theme was the past holocaust and what people can do to each other, extending up to today. I'm not sure how long this program will be available and it's in Dutch so many will not understand what they're talking about. Climate change and its possible consequences Apart from discussing only the past, they also reflected on our current time with its climate change and the miserable period it may bring. Indeed, in a number of countries dictators rule and climate change may be the tipping point when harvests fail and people start to be hungry and even thirsty so people will rise against their leaders such as in Syria but also elsewhere in Africa and Latin America. But, as we're with too many on this planet who don't want to change the way we live, many choose wrong leaders as they are angry about the cost of essential measures...

The future Do I think there are too many people on this planet as some people do? Just as the book " Adventures in the Anthropocene: A journey to the heart of the planet we made " by Gaia Vince, Chatto & Windus (I read the review in the article " Ode to humanity " in New Scientist, 28 June 2014, p. 46) seems to suggest that the earth may be able to maintain 10 billion people, I don't think there are too many people on condition we behave differently. E.g. we could stop eating fish so they can recover from our overfishing while those who claim we need omega-3 fats from fish: they are added in many butters. We could stop killing animals (for fun) so their numbers can recover in the wild while meat-eaters can eat laboratory-grown meat (in future). We could use cleaner and renewable energy so rivers, land and sky will be less polluted while we have cheaper energy.
