(7k - EN) A serious conflict between the Delhaize and the staff

Image
The conflict between the staff and the management of Delhaize continues. This article shows why the staff, together with the unions, may be right. After all, the profit margins of the stores are less today than they used to be. The retail landscape is changing dramatically. People now regularly buy smaller quantities instead of once a week. For example, it appears that shops managed by Delhaize have limited opening hours, such as not being open on Sundays, when many people go shopping these days. The reason? The staff must be paid extra on Sundays. Evening work must also be paid extra. People now also buy via websites while products are delivered to their homes. This is even promoted by Delhaize, as a result of which people go less to stores, and therefore stores have less income. Since the profit margins are less, it will also be more difficult for the self-employed to make the business profitable, especially since Delhaize is not cheap. An example is Snickers which can be up to 55% m...

A cursed politician of a cursed people in a cursed country

Image
Bart De Wever, a cursed politician. Born in Antwerp, Flanders, Belgium, just a few kilometres from the Belgium/ Dutch border and this results in such a difference. When he would have been born in the Netherlands, with his political inside he may be its PM and the country may flourish while he may not grow such a dislike for what are considered left political parties, the socialist and green (although for me the green are today's liberals while liberals became neoliberals LINK ARTICLE ON BLOG). However, he's born in Belgium. And so are all other Flemish. And the curse even extends to all Belgians as we all need to continue opposing each other political while we can live together at personal levels.   History and today through my eyes Mr De Wever is considered by many as the devil in person because he defends the right that Flemish people are treated with respect, certainly in their own region Flanders where people speak the language Dutch (many call it "Flemish")...

(18k) Racial conflicts in President Trump's America

Image
Dead and violence in USA President Trump says Minnesota's mayor is a weak person but I don't think so as he dared to fire four of his police officers after one of them put his knees for about 8 minutes on Mr George Floyd, a black man, his throat until he was death. The president didn't dare or didn't want to condemn the officers while in a tweet threatens that looters will be shot (such tweets should not be deleted as some claim but instead warn people but also intelligence agencies so they can intervene).   Indeed, violent clashes broke out after the video made the arrest public. It is even worse because Mr Floyd was already handcuffed and thus limited in his movements while he didn't seem to fight against his arrest. Other videos suggests the knee on someone's neck is likely a normal way to restraint someone until they are handcuffed (and thus not until they are dead) but can no longer be used. Thus, this incident will further increase distrust between...

Diversity is the key

Image
I agree with the message of M(ooh)ZAIK on this poster: diversity is key .  Diversity means everyone has equal chances and is involved in projects according their talents. This way, fewer people will be unhappy. Being accepted for jobs without having to change name will reduce anger by many youngsters from migrant backgrounds who turn inwards to their own group and even to extremism as they feel they are not understood and want to be heard (but in the wrong way). But also youngsters from here are angry. Some because some think migrants are taking their jobs while they can also be angry because jobs are insufficiently paid, certainly compared with older employees of whom many can no longer keep up with the speed of changes in society and thus can be considered as overpaid, certainly compared with youngsters who understand much better the new techniques and less the older techniques that are indeed slowly disappearing. Youngsters are angry many of the older generatio...
