Controversial interview pioneer anti-discrimination organisation

Image
The previous head of Belgium's anti-discrimination agency minimalised discrimination  Over a week ago, yes, in June 2019, the previous head of the federal anti-racism organisation said that LGBTs (lesbians, gays, bisexuals and trans) but also women in short skirts should not go to certain areas (such as Molenbeek) where they are not welcome. What to expect from a priest who studied at seminar at LGBTs should hide themselves, just as many priests hide their own sexuality? Further, since decades he leads the integration centre of Molenbeek, the place where the Belgium terrorists grew up and his reaction suggests he never questioned when people disagreed with the norms of our society, i.e. LGBTs and women are equal to any other good people. Don't educate and people remain stupid. The Love-that-dare-to-speak-its-name often frightens people Later on the radio his female successor defended him (maybe she's a nun?) and said that we should patience for another 50 ...

Homosexuality in Africa

Image
In Uganda, people were celebrating that anti-homosexual laws, voted in the Parliament came into law. People even involved children in the celebrations, thus indoctrinating them to become dangerous towards gay people (and those they think are gay). This because some people spread rumours that gays are evil. A poster promoting a film about gay love in Africa. In January it was Nigeria where president Goodluck Jonathan signed an anti-gay bill into law while recently also Uganda got its laws after president Yoweri Museveni signed them . But also in many other African countries the situation is bad. These laws include imprisonment for everyone who is gay but also for everyone who doesn't report homosexuals to the police (and thus prisons may fill with homosexuals but also with those who look gay or those who do not report but even with those who are suspected of not reporting homosexuals such as parents and other family or friends; in summary only the worst people may remai...

Protest against gay marriage in France and elsewhere

Image
Last Saturday, it seems that according to the police at least 70,000 people took to the streets in Paris while there were other demonstrations in the cities of Lyon, Toulouse and Marseille. The protests were against proposals to allow gay marriage. Those on the streets of France included Catholic groups and other backers of traditional family rights and I read many wore pink in a cynical way because it is the colour gay people use to remember the colour Hitler used to recognise gay people so he could destroy them. It also seems many mayors are against the proposal to allow every person in France (and eventually on this planet) to marry people they love. And this in a country that allegedly separated state and church more than 200 years ago because of the corruption within both of them. Even the pope urged bishops to speak against gay marriage in civil law, although in a polite manner because he claims that gays are a threat to family (as if the pope and priests know much about star...

Assault in gay bar in Brussels

This week, there was an assult by two men in a gay bar in Brussels. As I feared might happen more in future happened this week on a small scale in Brussels: two men entered the gay bar "Le Fontainas" in Brussels and started to insult the people. One barman defended the customers in the bar although a little too heavy: he used a knive and wounded one of the guys. There are now two possible directions: these two men will understand they can't insult people because they are differently and they will stop insulting people in future; or these two men will become even more agressive towards gay people who they find are indeed agressive and next time they might invite more friends to insult (or even damage) gay(-friendly) people as they might show no mercy and no forgiveness. The revolutions in the Middle East might worsen the problem: many people try to escape the violence in their country and come to Europe. And instead of being greatful for being allowed into Europ...

Out in arabia (in Brussels)

Yesterday evening I went out in Brussels. First I met up with Billy in La Reserve as we promised each other in the afternoon to go out together. After two drinks, we wanted to discover some other places so we left. We went to Homo Erectus, but after one drink we preferred to go somewhere else. We pasted the Rainbowhouse in Brussels. This is a place I never know what goes on: often it is not open or something happens I have no interest in. But yesterday night, the doors were open, we could hear music and it seems there was lots of happy faces and moving bodies. We decided to go inside and noticed it was the Arabian night. This night is ones a month and often I don't know when it goes on. But now I know how good the atmosphere is I will try to find out the date for the next party as it was real fun. I find it very courageous of these people from middle eastern origin to dance in the centre of Brussels where there is still quite some hospitality from a certain population of people...

Fallen angel, also known as the devil or antichrist

Image
Over the past three years I read some blogs written by fundamentalist Christian (and other religious) groups. Many of these people are angry and they hope the worst possible will happen in the world. One of the reasons they deny climate change is because they are hoping the prophecies described in the Bible will happen. This will allow them to claim they really believe in God and so the chosen person might choose them to rule together with him (how wrong they might be). Religious fanatics even try to force the predicted events to happen (e.g. burning Holy Books of other religions or worse, killing their people), even when He says He wants to set the date (what means He can change the date if we behave well). Thus, fundamentalists disobey God. In this article I want to demonstrate how wrong these fundamentalists are, but as they are fundamentalists, they will not listen to reason. They might become angry while reading this article because they want to show God how much they only love G...

Gay Pride in London

Image
Gay Pride in London: so much fun. I was wearing a pink shirt, blue jeans and eyeliners. I bought purple nail varnish to paint my fingernails. I think it looked good on me, although I am sure not everyone will agree. In the evening chilling in a gay bar in Camden Town with friends. A few days earlier, I left Belgium for London together with Kurt to go to London Gay Pride. I stayed with my good friends Marc and Gerard, while Kurt stayed with my other friend Allan. After arriving in London, Kurt and I went for Chinese in King's Cross, together with Allan, and later we had a beer before going to our beds. The next day, Kurt and I went to a restaurant in West London for a nice meal together with Marc and Gerard and two of Gerard's friends. Afterwards we had champagne in a bar/restaurant near Oxford and Regent Street and more people joined. It was a great day. Then on Saturday: Gay Pride. Gerard and Marc didn't join. First we saw a little of the Parade. It was fun altho...

Gay Pride Brussels

Image
As usual in May, Belgium Pride took place in Brussels. Indeed, as you notice, in Brussels Pride is early, but again, just like last year we were lucky with the weather: sunny although a little cold (but then, what do you expect in Belgium in early May?). Pride was quite fun. I met up with Kurt and Jethro and we had a nice day. I wore something different from what I normally wear: a pink shirt with green bow tie. It suited me although I say it myself but otherwise I would have worn it. Of course, there were many people, and some of them were interesting: either in drag, with strange clothes or bare chest. Unfortunately, most were in ordinary clothes: t-shirt and jeans, not worth taking pictures off. I show a small selection of the people. Excuse me the strange way of placing the photo's but I mostly can't place them in the position I would prefer them to be. I was lucky to be able to dance with a few of these people. I also spoke with two guys having fun, one from Israel, ...
