(3f) The Three Powers must be able to judge each other

Image
Introduction  A Slovakian man  was taken from an airplane by police just before departure, he resisted, among other by hitting his head against a wall until he bled, so the police had to use force to keep the person under control.  Afterwards the person died.  A video of the event became public 2,5 years after the event happened.  Questions must be answered.  The video also shows how a policewoman delivers the Hitler salute.  Doesn't that justify at least an immediate layoff and even a dismissal since Nazis have no place in the police? Questions that need to be answered  Why was the man aggressive or did he become violent when he was removed from the plane?  Did the officers misbehave or should it be better described what to do if someone opposes aggressively?  Indeed, sometimes people die and this needs to be investigated, especially if there were video footage although apparently those in higher positions were not aware of this as the ...

15/08/1945 - End of World War II

Image
English - 75 years ago Japan surrendered and WWII ended 15 August 2020 marks 75 years since Japan's emperor Hirohito ordered his soldiers to stop fighting and to surrender . This happened after the West decided to first seriously firebomb Tokyo in March 1945, killing about 100,000 people and making many homeless (although such bombings happened before and ended only on 15 August when Japan surrendered - similar things were done in nazi Germany to hasten its fall after both country's evil regimes did the same in the countries they attacked). After this destruction and because Japan decided to continue to fight, the USA dropped two atomic bombs, one on Hiroshima and another on Nagasaki in August 1945 after which the war ended as the emperor understood such a weapon was too powerful.   Although terrible, we should not forget that this use of violence was to save the lives of American soldiers and their allies. The cartoon " Grave of the Fireflies " by Isao Takaha...

(20c) Mondmasker tegen Covid-19 - Mouth mask against Covid-19 - Masque contre Covid-19

(18l) Belgium, king Leopold II and Congo

Image
Leopold II in Congo Belgium has a terrible human rights track record because of its second king Leopold II (1835 - 1909) during whose reign millions of people in Congo died. People may say he is not personally responsible but the same can be said of Hitler. However, Leopold II could have ruled only Belgium but this he considered too small and thus he lobbied to gain Congo for himself and succeeded on the condition he would treat its people correct, something he refused to do from day one. Therefore, he is responsible as he actively searched for this expansion to enrich himself so he could enlarge his own glory in his kingdom Belgium with neglect of his "subjects" in Congo. And people in those days had already a conscience because the king had to replace the first ambassador who refused to collaborate to expand the king's personal property.   To have an impression of the terror Leopold ii allowed in Congo is a picture in this article that shows a black father who l...

A cursed politician of a cursed people in a cursed country

Image
Bart De Wever, a cursed politician. Born in Antwerp, Flanders, Belgium, just a few kilometres from the Belgium/ Dutch border and this results in such a difference. When he would have been born in the Netherlands, with his political inside he may be its PM and the country may flourish while he may not grow such a dislike for what are considered left political parties, the socialist and green (although for me the green are today's liberals while liberals became neoliberals LINK ARTICLE ON BLOG). However, he's born in Belgium. And so are all other Flemish. And the curse even extends to all Belgians as we all need to continue opposing each other political while we can live together at personal levels.   History and today through my eyes Mr De Wever is considered by many as the devil in person because he defends the right that Flemish people are treated with respect, certainly in their own region Flanders where people speak the language Dutch (many call it "Flemish")...
