XYZ

Image
Yesterday, Saturday July 9 I saw XYZ back after a very long time. We met in Earl's Court where she lived before. We first went to the Troubadour for a cappuccino (me) and tea (XYZ) and we also ordered an ice cream with caramel taste. After finishing our first drink we ordered another tea (XYZ) and a coca-cola (me). Finally we had our diner: we shared our starter: a bruchetta with goat cheese and spinach, then I took a gnocchi that had a very dominant, and for me bad taste so I did not enjoy it and I even didn't finish it as I normally would do while XYZ took a pie with mashed potatoes. XYZ and me in the Troubadour, a nice bar / restaurant. In the meanwhile we spoke about a number of things, and especially about the kids in school. As usually I complained about some kids but I always try to make it clear I also have wonderful children who want to learn. XYZ also complained about some problems at her school, although she said the problems at her school seemed to ...

Gay Pride in London

Image
Gay Pride in London: so much fun. I was wearing a pink shirt, blue jeans and eyeliners. I bought purple nail varnish to paint my fingernails. I think it looked good on me, although I am sure not everyone will agree. In the evening chilling in a gay bar in Camden Town with friends. A few days earlier, I left Belgium for London together with Kurt to go to London Gay Pride. I stayed with my good friends Marc and Gerard, while Kurt stayed with my other friend Allan. After arriving in London, Kurt and I went for Chinese in King's Cross, together with Allan, and later we had a beer before going to our beds. The next day, Kurt and I went to a restaurant in West London for a nice meal together with Marc and Gerard and two of Gerard's friends. Afterwards we had champagne in a bar/restaurant near Oxford and Regent Street and more people joined. It was a great day. Then on Saturday: Gay Pride. Gerard and Marc didn't join. First we saw a little of the Parade. It was fun altho...

Back in London

Image
Since June 30, I am back in London. But not permanently, I am visiting the city and friends for 11 days. But still, I feel already so much better. After arriving, I rushed to Gerard and Marc's place to leave my luggage there. Marc was still at work but it was great seeing Gerard back. We chatted a little but then I had to rush back to King's Cross St Pancras as I had to meet Kurt who arrived an hour after I did. And there was also Allan. It was lovely seeing him back after all that time. We went to a Chinese for dinner and to a bar for a beer. Then we all went our own ways: Kurt went to Allan's place and I went to Marc and Gerard's house. After arriving, I closed the front door, thereby locking Marc out. After opening the door, Marc and I briefly spoke with each other but then we went to bed as the next day would be busy and Marc was tired after a long days work. The next morning I went to King's College London (KCL), my previous employer, to catch up w...

Gay Pride Brussels

Image
As usual in May, Belgium Pride took place in Brussels. Indeed, as you notice, in Brussels Pride is early, but again, just like last year we were lucky with the weather: sunny although a little cold (but then, what do you expect in Belgium in early May?). Pride was quite fun. I met up with Kurt and Jethro and we had a nice day. I wore something different from what I normally wear: a pink shirt with green bow tie. It suited me although I say it myself but otherwise I would have worn it. Of course, there were many people, and some of them were interesting: either in drag, with strange clothes or bare chest. Unfortunately, most were in ordinary clothes: t-shirt and jeans, not worth taking pictures off. I show a small selection of the people. Excuse me the strange way of placing the photo's but I mostly can't place them in the position I would prefer them to be. I was lucky to be able to dance with a few of these people. I also spoke with two guys having fun, one from Israel, ...

Animals, more than only meat...

Dear, Recently I heard a moving story on the radio. It was about an experiment with mice, and it demonstrated that not only humans have a conscience but even mice have one. The experiment was as follows: there were two boxes and in each one was a mouse. These mice could see each other. One mice could take food and be happy. However, there was only one problem: whenever the mouse took food, in the other box the other mouse received an electrical shock and died. The mouse that took the food could see the effect of its actions and learned quickly that the dead of the other mouse was related with taken food. So, the mouse decided not to eat anymore and thereby stopped killing the mouse in the other box. The person who told the story said the mouse hungered itself to death, illustrating that the mouse had a conscience. I don't know how often this experiment was repeated to see whether all mice have a conscience. However, I hope the scientists also had a conscience and that they didn...

Entropy always increasing?

Recently I saw some dust. They were cluttered together so I could simply pick them up and remove them. Then, I started thinking. Scientists say that in a closed area, entropy remains the same or increases but can never decrease. Is this really so? In my case with the dust: after cleaning my house, my house smells fresh and is a little shiny; entropy is low but will soon (immediate) start to increase again. Dust will appear originating from e.g. clothes, and after a few days it is impossible to see I cleaned my house; it simply looks clean. After more time more dust is made, and people start seeing that the house is dirty, I should start cleaning again. Entropy is at its greatest and energy is needed to tidy again. However, from a certain moment onwards, I think entropy reached its maximum and will decrease again until a certain level where a steady state arrives, and this because everywhere there is energy that stops the increase in energy. In some areas dust will stick together, ...
